Carl M. Freeman Companies, a diverse company focusing on high quality retail, residential and golf communities in the Mid-Atlantic region, hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 for their newly renovated shopping center, Fair Hill, located in Olney, Maryland. The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony took place in the Plaza & Fountain Area of the Center and featured enthusiastic and heartfelt remarks from Michelle Freeman, Chris Garland & Mike Reilly with Carl M. Freeman Companies; Montgomery County Council Executive Ike Leggett, and Jack Ladson, whose family owned and operated the Fair Hill Farm that was once located on the land the shopping center sits on today.
“Today marks a major milestone that in many ways is bittersweet as we carryout the vision and continue the legacy of both Carl & Joshua Freeman,” said Mike Reilly, Chief Operating Officer at Carl M. Freeman Companies. “To quote Josh Freeman and read the words written on a stone placed here in the Fair Hill Plaza, ‘Olney needs to have an identity. That Identity should be represented architecturally in the land, in the public spaces and in the heart of her citizens. We need gathering places both formal and informal, enclosed and al fresco’.” Mike Reilly continued with, “I would like to thank Michelle Freeman for her leadership. Without her courage, determination and commitment, the completion of this project would not have been possible.”
The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony kicks-off the Grand Opening Celebration for the Center. The Grand Opening Celebration will feature free activities for the entire family on Friday, April 29th from 7-9pm & Saturday, April 30th from 10am – 8pm.
